 Some form of gum disease affects three out of four adults after age 35. At least 35% of US adults have some form of gum and bone disease. Sixty three percent of Americans--age 13 years or older--experience some gum bleeding. Over 50% of adults in the US have gingivitis on an average of three to four teeth. Up to 30% of the US population may be genetically susceptible to gum and bone disease.
